More eco funding on its way!

More Transportation Funds for NoVA
More stimulus funding is on its way to Northern Virginia. The U.S. Secretary of Transportation recently announced $58 million in Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) discretionary grant will be coming to our region. The funds will be used in the following ways:

*
$19.3 million for improvements to the Pentagon and Franconia/Springfield Metro stations and bus transport in the I-95/395 area;
*
$8.5 million to build a bus transit-way in the median of US 1 within Alexandria city limits;
*
$1.7 million for improvements to the bus transport system along Leesburg Pike;
*
$5.2 million to facilitate bus transit on the 14th St. Bridge corridor into downtown Washington D.C.;
*
$700,000 for rapid bus service improvements between the Van Dorn metro and the Pentagon
