Eco-City Action Plan Cafe – March 19 6:00 PM -9:00 PM

Come one, come all to the Second Annual Eco-City Cafe. From 6:00-9:00 PM on March 19, 2009 at the Lee Center, the Environmental Policy Commission, the staff from the City of Alexandria, and the City Council will be discussing what kind of community they would like to live in come 2020 or 2030 and they would like interested residents, businesspersons, and representatives from the plethora of organizations that exist in Alexandria to attend.  The Phase II Eco-City Action Plan is the tool that will be used to guide Alexandria and its residents toward environmental sustainability.

Because becoming a sustainable city takes an serious committment, this meeting will not only focus on “traditional” environmental topics like clean air and reducing carbon emissions. Inevitably, participants will bring up many topics that some of you did not think were directly related to environmentalism like leisure activities or grocery stores. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the development of your community and guide its future.

I hope to see you there.

The Lee Center is located at 1108 Jefferson Street in Alexandria. Check out the DASH’s or WMATA’s website to see how you can get there via public transportation.
