Eco-City Alexandria Blog (http://ecocityalexandria.wordpress.com) is operated by the Eco-City Studio, a Department of Urban Affairs & Planning project at Virginia Tech in Alexandria, Virginia.
The Eco-City Studio created this blog to enable and support a healthy conversation between members of the Alexandria community and the Environmental Policy Commission. The Eco-City Alexandria Blog is a place where the Alexandria community (residents, employees, businesses, organizations, associations and city government) can share ideas about how to make the City of Alexandria, Virginia an ecologically sustainable city. We encourage not just feedback, but active participation. We want to know your ideas and thoughts about the Eco-City Charter and the development of the Environmental Action Plan. We want to know about projects, programs, policies, best practices and other initiatives you’ve run across related to ecological sustainability (environmental, economic & social sustainability). We want to know what you do, as individuals, businesses or organizations, to be more sustainable or environmentally responsible.
All pages and tags of this blog are organized by audience:

FUEL is an insightful documentary concerning one man’s struggle with America’s dependence on oil and our nation’s alternatives.
The FUEL team is excited to be presenting the GREAT GREEN BLOG CHALLENGE. In order to spread the word about the best green blogs and about environmentalism in general we will be asking for nominations for the hippest and most informative eco friendly blogs, which we will then feature on our website. On July 30 we will ask our friends and followers to vote on their favorites and the winners and runner-ups will receive tickets to the nation-wide premiere of FUEL in September.
We would like to invite you to participate in the contest by asking your readers to email FUELthefilm@gmail.com and telling us that you are a GREAT GREEN BLOG.
Complete details about the contest can be found at http://thefuelfilm.com/great-green-blog-challenge.
Stay Green,

Hi there,
I have a really exciting tool to help people calculate the impact of their travelling on the environment, and I thought it might fit in well with your interests. Though we love to travel, carbon emissions are an issue that is starting to worry a lot of us. The Flight CO2 Calculator will hopefully encourage us all to be more socially responsible by perhaps considering greener travel options.
If you are interested, take a look at http://www.tripbase.com/flight-Co2-calculator. It would be great if you could post the calculator on your blog. I really think it would add value to your site as a whole by sparking awareness, interest and debate from your followers. I hope you like it!
Many thanks ,
Anna

Hi,
I wondered if you would be interested in exchanging links with The Green Providers Directory
We are a not-for-profit, green directory founded on ethical principles, providing links to renewable energy suppliers, organic health and beauty products, fair trade clothing, gifts and household goods and services. We also provide news and updates on the environment, recycling, energy efficiency and related topics.
We are listed in The Guardian and Channel 4’s environmental sections and on green.tv, a United Nations Environmental Programme, and we are members of Ethical Junction.
Please let me know if this would be of interest.
Kind regards,
Dr Gary Robertshaw
